Renaissance-Style Knight Tournament with Lunch at a Renaissance Restaurant

• On Saturdays: The tournament is a shared event with other guests, priced at €40 per person.
• On other days: A private, custom program can be arranged for the preferred date.

Guests may choose to:

• Attend only the Historical Knight Tournament without a medieval feast, or
• Combine the tournament with the medieval banquet for a complete medieval experience.

A One-of-a-Kind Knight Tournament Program

Unique in Hungary, the program takes guests on an unforgettable journey back to the Middle Ages — not a dark era, but a brilliant, colorful, and heroic age of chivalry.

Members of the Order of Saint George present a spectacular knight tournament, recreating how warriors once fought for the favor of the king and queen in 14th-century Visegrád.

At the beginning of the program, the knights select a king and queen from the audience. The chosen guests are dressed in royal cloaks and ceremoniously crowned, becoming central figures of the show.

Upon the king’s command, the knights enter the arena and demonstrate their mastery of medieval weapons, showcasing skills in sword fighting, lance combat, precision aiming, and hand-to-hand duels before the royal couple and honored guests.

The combats are realistic, dynamic, and thrilling, often infused with moments of humor, vividly portraying the courage, daring, and code of honor of medieval knights.

The performance is further enriched by a spectacular falconry display, featuring the flight of a royal hunting falcon.

At the conclusion of the show, guests will be offered the opportunity to try authentic medieval weapons with the assistance and guidance of the knights — a truly interactive and memorable experience.

Before or after the performance, guests will be offered the opportunity to enjoy a medieval-style meal at the nearby Renaissance Restaurant, completing the atmosphere of the era.

Visegrád Knight Tournament & Royal Feast

Guaranteed Program for Individual Guests

Individual travelers can join Visegrád’s most popular medieval experience every Saturday, which includes a knight tournament at Solomon Tower and a royal feast at the Renaissance Restaurant.

Detailed Program:

• 12:00 – Historical introduction at Solomon Tower, followed by a visit to the tower terrace
• 12:30 – Knight tournament show at Solomon Tower, with welcome drinks (white wine and apple juice)
• 13:30 – Guests will be offered a royal feast at the Renaissance Restaurant with the following menu:
  • Creamy venison ragout soup with tarragon and onion potato dumplings
  • Roasted turkey leg, honey-glazed pork ribs, panko-crusted chicken breast fillet
    Served with roasted potato petals, chive mayonnaise, honey-smoked sauce, and braised apple cabbage
  • Ice cream dessert

Drinks are not included with the meal.

The Knight Tournament is guaranteed every Saturday at 12:00. Additional performances may also take place on other dates. Updated schedules are published weekly and include the guaranteed Saturday program.
