Héviz is located in the southwestern part of Hungary, only five kilometers from Balaton lake. Héviz is a small Hungarian town known as a bathing resort. Lake Hévíz is the largest natural, biologically active thermal lake in the world what is suitable for bathing. Heviz Lake is Hungary’s first and most well-known thermal bath, which according to archaeological finds was also known to the Romans. The lake is fed by a natural hot spring so abundant, that the water of Heviz Lake changes every three days. The water has an average temperature of 33 ºC. As the temperature never falls below 24 ºC, it enables winter bathing. The constant water flow of the lake gives a natural massage effect. In addition, due to the condensation of the steam during the winter season, it creates a natural inhalator together with a spectacular view. The medicinal water of the lake is recommended primarily for the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, but the beneficial properties of Hévíz’s medicinal water also make it excellent for the prevention of illness, and ideal for recreation and leisure.
