Its white stone walls, intricately carved spires, and colorful tiled roof make it one of Budapest’s most photographed landmarks. Inside, the church features exquisite stained-glass windows, ornate altars, and historical frescoes. It has been the site of coronations of Hungarian kings, making it a true symbol of Hungary’s royal heritage.

Fisherman’s Bastion
Adjacent to Matthias Church, Fisherman’s Bastion is an iconic terrace and gallery built in neo-Romanesque style. Its seven towers represent the seven Magyar tribes that founded Hungary. From the bastion, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Danube, the Parliament building, and the Pest skyline. The wide terrace, elegant arches, and historic statues make it both a cultural landmark and a perfect spot for photos.

Buda Royal Palace
The centerpiece of the district, Buda Royal Palace has served as the residence of Hungarian kings for centuries. This majestic building showcases a blend of Baroque and medieval architecture. Visitors can admire its grand façades, courtyards, and surrounding gardens. Today, parts of the palace house museums and galleries, preserving Hungary’s rich history and royal legacy.

Chimney of the Plague Column
